Mutton Biryani

How to Make Mutton Biryani:

Biryani is one of the traditional food that are famous in every part of the world.Talking about biryani their are some famous variety can be found out like Hyderabadi biryani,Calicut biryani i like to share a variety Mutton biryani.


For rice preparation:

  1. Basmati rice-400gm
  2. Lemon juice-5tspn
  3. Cloves-8ns
  4. Cardamom-6ns
  5. Cinnamon-1piece
  6. Salt-as required
For Mutton:
  1. Mutton-400gm
  2. Onions-10ns
  3. Chopped onion-50gm
  4. Curd-2cup
  5. Ghee-50gm
  6. Ginger-Garlic paste-1/2cup
  7. Cardomom powder-1/2tspn
  8. Garam masala-1tspn
  9. pepper powder-1/2tspn
  10. Mint leaves-as required
  11. Salt-as required

Method of Making: 

  • Heat ghee in a pan and saute the whole garam masala,then add the chopped onions and fry it till brown. 
  • To it add mutton,ginger-garlic paste and saute for 5minutes.
  • Add curd to it and again fry for 3minutes,to it add the remaining ingredients and some water and continue cooking until the meat done.  
  • Take 1 litre water add salt,cinnamon,cardamom,cloves,lemon juice and rice(soaked for 30minutes) and cook till the rice is half cooked.
  • Put mutton pieces in another vessel,starts to cook in low fire.Then add the rice over it and cover with moist cloth.
  • Seal the vessel and put it on dum for 15-20minutes.
  • Finally take out and garnish with fried onions and serve hot.
